Hood River to Parkdale

It`s not the distance that really matters--it`s the vertical feet of climbing--and Caroline and I don`t know how many feet we climbed.  We just know we climbed for about 12 miles.  And tomorrow will be worse.  The roads were great.  They had really wide shoulders as well as a passing lane on the climbs.  What they didn`t have was  a conveyor belt to help you move along.  The other good news is that it did not rain and wind wasn`t a factor.  Just the damn mountains!

We had a nice view of Mt. Hood.  Picture has been added.  We also had a nice tour of the fruit loop--about 16 orchards that are close to each other along the same road.  Most of them have stores where you can purchase the fruit and more (like smoothies).

We met a nice fellow at the brewpub who might give us a lift to Government Camp.  It is supposed to rain tomorrow.  Is that cheating?  Caroline and Martha don`t care!!!
